NEWARK MUSIC AND STUDY CLUB (2012)

WHAT:

Each year, the Newark Music and Study Club conducts a scholarship competition for Licking County high school  seniors.  It is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists who plan to continue their study of music after high school.  Students are asked to perform one classical solo that is four to eight minutes in length.

Winners are announced immediately following the competition.  The first place senior will receive a $1000.00 prize, and the second place senior will receive a $500.00 prize.  The winners are expected to play at a meeting of the Newark Music and Study Club.

WHEN:

The competition date is February 19th beginning at 2:00..  Audition times are individually scheduled.

WHERE:

Auditions are held at the Second Presbyterian Church at 42 East Church Street in Newark.

FEES:

There is a $5.00 entry fee for this competition.

DEADLINE:

Applications, including a picture of yourself and a copy of your music, are due by February 6th.   The number of contestants is limited to the first 15 applicants.
